Kayden Martinez

Kayden Martinez (he/him) is a senior with a dual degree in Environmental Studies and Geography and a minor in Marine Science. Additionally Kayden has three undergraduate certificates: Geographic Information Systems, International Environmental Conservation, and Sustainable Tourism! Throughout his undergraduate career, he has been actively involved in the University of Arizona’s honorary system, culminating in his membership in Mortar Board Senior Honorary this year. Kayden is also a member of Epsilon Eta, the coed pre-professional environmental fraternity, as well as the Marine Awareness & Conservation Society (MACs) and being a member in a Greek organization. Beyond student organizations, he works on campus as an Environmental Educator with the Office of Sustainability and as a Desk Assistant with Housing & Residential Life. Kayden has also taken his studies abroad, completing a winter session program in the Galápagos Islands where he conducted research on human-animal species interactions, and a spring session in Barcelona, Spain, where he interned for a company trying to make other businesses more sustainable. A fun fact about Kayden is he takes immense pride in his green thumb, with taking care of a myriad of tropical houseplants as well as four garden plots. One of his goals is to pursue a career in environmental and marine education, with a focus on restoration projects that create sustainable solutions for the future.
