Alyvia Mejia
Alyvia is currently in her second year at the University of Arizona. She plans on graduating early in May 2027 majoring in Global Studies with an emphasis in Political Economy, alongside minoring in Spanish. Alyvia is actively involved on campus as a member of the W.A. Franke Honors College and Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, where she serves as External Fundraising Director helping organize philanthropy initiatives within the Greek Life community. Off campus, she recently was accepted into the International Rescue Committee's (IRC) Program for Initial Resettlement Internship, where she plays a critical role in helping clients resettle into the United States. Her passion for traveling and its teachings first sparked while living overseas in the Philippines where she had the opportunity to learn about diverse cultures and developing countries' economies. She looks forward to more cross-cultural experiences through the CIELO program and working overseas as a Foreign Service Officer in the future. Alyvia hopes to use her experiences and global perspective to support fellow students, build inclusive campus communities, and help others discover opportunities that align with their academic and career goals.
