Megan Carney, an anthropology professor and director of the Center for Regional Food Studies in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, recently released a report in partnership with the Arizona Water for All Network. Spanning three counties, the study examines residents’ experiences with water insecurity at the household and community levels.

Between March 2025 and March 2026, more than 100 residents in Pima, Cochise and Santa Cruz counties participated in community conversations about water access, affordability, quality and future water challenges. The report highlights key findings and recommendations that emerged from those discussions.
