2026 Honors Recognition Celebration
Each fall, we honor students who have had outstanding academic achievement in the previous academic year at our Honors Recognition Open House. The invitation to the award recipients will be sent in early September.
Students can stop by the Douglass Building to pick up their Honors cord and meet SBS Dean Lori Poloni-Staudinger.
At this event, students can enjoy a treat and grab a sticker. Photo opportunities abound! Family members are welcome. (Limit four guests per student). Students must bring their CatCard to receive their cord.
This year's celebration will also mark the grand opening of the SBS Career Hub. More details coming!

Dress is casual. This is an open house, casual event that will take place outside on the Douglass Building lawn.
Students can pick up their cord at the front desk of the SBS Dean’s Office, Douglass 200W, between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. beginning October 5 and until May 14, 2027.
You will only be issued a cord from the Dean's Office if you were eligible for honors but did not attend the October 2026 recognition celebration. Cords for past years are not available; however if you are a senior and are hoping to obtain a cord from a past year to wear for you graduation ceremony, please ask your advisor to confirm your eligibility for a cord. If you were eligible and have never been issued a cord, you will be given one cord for graduation (with advisor approval).
Students obtaining a degree from Arizona Online can get their cord mailed to them. Please email your name and mailing address to sbs-events@arizona.edu. Cords will be mailed out after the Honors ceremony.
SBS does not hand out certificates in a formal ceremony. All students earning Academic Honors will receive an email invitation to the Honors Open House that will include a personalized and printable letter from the Dean recognizing their outstanding academic achievements. Your Honors designation is also listed on your official University of Arizona transcript.

You can log in to UAccess Student and go to Academic Record --> Academic Summary --> Academic Honors and Awards. There you will see a list of all your undergraduate honors and awards by academic year.
